As part of our work in Waternomics, we are developing a notification component that is part of our support services of the Water Information Platform.
A support service is a back-end application that takes as input data from the dataspace and generates new data that can be used by end-users applications.
The Waternomics platform includes multiple support services for carrying out water data analytics, searching and querying data sets, building charts, notifications management, etc.
The notification manager is responsible for (1) receiving notifications from all the platform applications and services, (2) find out the relevant user that has to receive the notification, and (3) deliver the notification using the appropriate means of communication.
The object of this component is to make sure that notifications get delivered anyway and any time!
One of the means of communications that Waternomics uses is the smart watch to receive notifications literally anywhere and any time 🙂
